About Guy

With over fifteen years in residential property, my career began here in Sheffield before taking me to Prime Central London, where I spent seven years advising on the sale of some of the capital’s most exceptional homes. Working within two of London’s leading agencies, I learned first-hand the standards of presentation, negotiation and professionalism required in fast-paced, high-value markets. These demanding environments shaped my approach: meticulous attention to detail, skilled negotiation, and a personal commitment to delivering exceptional results.

I founded Highgates to bring this level of service back to Sheffield. Today, clients want direct access to an experienced expert, not to be passed between departments, and that’s exactly what I offer. I work one-to-one with every client, providing clear guidance, honest advice and a premium experience from start to finish.

Sheffield isn’t just where I work, it's where I'm from. I was born in Dore and grew up in Whirlow, giving me a genuine, lived understanding of the areas, streets and communities that shape the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods. Educated locally, I’ve seen first-hand how factors such as schools, location and long-term appeal influence buyer decisions.

Combined with my experience in Prime Central London, this means my clients benefit from both perspectives: a strategic, high-performance approach shaped in demanding markets, and the local insight that only comes from growing up here.  It allows me to advise not just on price, but on positioning, presentation and the details that help homes attract the right buyers and achieve the strongest result.

About Jamal

With over a decade in residential lettings, property management and development, my career has been shaped by a deep, first-hand understanding of Sheffield’s rental market. I studied locally at Sheffield Hallam University and after graduating, I went on to manage a successful lettings business based in S7 from 2012. Under my direction, the company grew year on year, achieving top listing agent in the S7 postcode in 2017.

I later moved into the commercial and development sector, working for a regional housebuilder delivering over 200 new homes across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire. Starting as a Property Analyst before progressing to Development Manager, I was involved at every stage of the process, from feasibility and land appraisals through to delivery and completion. This experience gave me a much broader perspective on property, combining operational lettings expertise with detailed understanding of property development. Today, that blend allows me to offer landlords practical advice rooted in real market understanding.

Jamal's Background

Sheffield isn’t just where I work, it’s where I’m from. I grew up in Meersbrook, S8, a stone’s throw away from Meersbrook Park and have seen first-hand how the area has evolved over the years. Being raised here, attending local schools and growing up within a close community has given me a genuine attachment to the area and the people in it.

That sense of belonging continues to shape how I approach property today. For me, property has never been just about transactions; it’s about individuals, families and landlords making decisions that directly affect their lives and futures. Now living locally with my wife and our two children, my connection to Sheffield has only deepened. Experiencing the city as a parent reinforces my understanding of what people truly want from a home; stability, quality and a place to put down roots. It’s this perspective that informs how I work with clients and why I believe property decisions deserve care, respect and attention to detail.

Too often, the lettings sector is let down by poor communication, lack of transparency and services that fail to deliver meaningful value. I set out to challenge that and redefine what clients should expect from a managing agent.

My vision is to bring a more transparent, proactive and forward-thinking approach to Sheffield’s lettings market. For landlords, that means honest advice, strong asset protection and truly hands on proactive management, restoring confidence that property can once again be a genuinely passive investment. For tenants, it means well-maintained homes, clear communication and properties that are treated with care and respect.
